Position your child for a bright future
CCHC caters to students who want to pursue a healthcare career—or simply want a superior, college-preparatory high school education. Our mission is to increase the graduation rates of students in Bexar County and to prepare our graduates for post-secondary education, as well as leadership roles in whatever profession they choose.
The public school that feels like a private school
With its smaller classes, individualized learning and dedication to exceptional education, CCHC may seem like a private school. Actually, it’s a very special public charter school with a passion for working with students to achieve their goals.
No tuition, no test requirements, and open enrollment
CCHC is an open enrollment school with no test requirements. Tuition is free, as is our before and after school program where parents drop off children at 7:15 a.m. and pick them up at 5:30 p.m.
Dedicated professionals teaching health and science classes
CCHC’s State-Certified teachers are dedicated to giving individual attention to students, even providing personalized and tailored tutoring. Health and science classes are often taught by healthcare professionals and medical students. When possible, students may be accelerated. Core high school courses may be completed in middle school with a specialized focus starting in 6th grade, so that students in high school can focus on advanced courses.
If your child is attracted to healthcare, CCHC is an ideal choice
For students with an interest in healthcare professions, it's hard to imagine a more relevant—and rigorous—curriculum. In our project-based learning model, students are introduced to various professional paths. They also spend time in the field observing healthcare professionals at work.
CCHC students spend time in the field observing healthcare professionals at work
CCHC is near the downtown healthcare community of clinics, doctors’ offices, labs and hospitals, including Baptist Health System, Christus Santa Rosa Health Care, Methodist Health Care System, Nix Health Care System and University Health System. CCHC students participate in these institutions' field education programs.
See your child graduate with the Class of 2013
The 2010-2011 school year at CCHC will include grades 6-10. The following year will expand to include grades 6-11. And in 2013, CCHC will graduate its first students. Enrollment is open to all students residing in Bexar County and surrounding areas.
